With winds around 10-15 knots WSW it was a glorious day for the WA Metro's and racing kicked off on time at 10.30 and from race one it became evident that Dawson's V11 was the boat to beat.

While Glenn faced numerous problems with gear issues throughout the day including a failed rudder servo and a jib taken off the deck he still managed to dominate the racing winning no less than nine of the sixteen races sailed. 

Sean Wallis & Edgar Vitte put up a challenge to the Dawson V11 early, the pressure was not sustained and the gap between first and second steadily increased race after race.

Racing was extremely close, the V11's of Peter Buchanan and Ian Sherriff mixed it at the top with places changing frequently but Dawson continually fought of the challengers.

With the 'states' looming in a couple of weeks Dawson will be out to defend his title, but with such a strong field it wont be an easy feat.
