Our club was founded in 2019 with 4 members sailing the IOM (International One Metre) remote controlled yacht and has grown to 13. We are a very informal group who enjoy a sail and chat.
Our club membership consists of novices and people who came from dinghy's or keel boats. A couple were complete novices to RC sailing. With some hands on tuition it doesn’t take too long to get the idea and become competitive. We sail around 8 races per race day, however this depends on weather conditions.
We are keen to promote radio controlled sailing in the Busselton, Dunsborough and Bunbury areas by helping others learn to sail. Our club uses a handicap system of racing, this means the winners are shared over the day.
IOM’s are a very competitive boat and a strict one design boat which are relatively easy to learn to sail and with time mastered. Once mastered sailing at state level is accessible.
You can sail at our club as a visitor 3 times before we will ask you to join.
